frequently asked questions

When calculating how many shingles you need for a roof, you should plan for about 15% wastage.

This is because some shingles may need to be cut to shape, used as valley or ridge caps, or may arrive cracked or unusable.

To get the final number of shingles you need, multiply the number of bundles by 1.15.
For example, if you need 72 bundles, you would multiply 72 by 1.15 to get 82.8, which rounds to 83.

We try to stock the base colors of Black, Brown and Grey.  However availablity does fluctuate due to demand and seasonality.  Feel free to call to check current inventory.

A bundle of shingles is a single wrapped package of shingles.  Typically a bundle is around 33 square feet of coverage.

A square is 100 square feet of coverage (or 3 bundles).

A square is usually always in refrence to 100 square feet, but a bundle coverage may vary due to shingle thickness or by manufacturer.  For example a thicker shingle may require 4 bundles to achive a square.

These are B grade shingles. B Grade shingles are high quality; usually the color is just slightly different from the manufacturer's A Grade shingles. In the end, using B Grade shingles saves you money without sacrificing performance.

We were looking to remodel our house with good quality material but on a tight budget.  These shingles checked all the boxes.  Roofing is hard work, but we saved a lot of money and they look great!
